If you want to know whether a crusher is any good, put it where the inspection is hardest. Nuclear projects are that place.

Over the years Shuangjin has supplied complete crushing plants to six nuclear power projects: Shidao Bay Phase I in Shandong, which started in 2009 and is still running; Shidao Bay Phase II, granite, 250 t/h; Taohuajiang in Hunan, 350 t/h; Changjiang in Hainan; the CNNC Tianwan sand and gravel plant, delivered as a full EPC package from demolition of the old line through survey, design, manufacture and commissioning; and the Laiyang manufactured-sand project in Shandong, 250 t/h.

Anyone in the industry knows nuclear specification sits well above ordinary quarry work. Grading, particle shape, clay content, soundness and void ratio — every one has a number attached. Material approval, in-process sampling and third-party testing get stricter at each step.

Two short stories. When the Laiyang client came to inspect, they brought 180 tonnes of raw rock to Shuangjin's test base in Hangzhou and ran the whole circuit — jaw primary, cone tertiary, screening and shaping — for several hours. They were watching one figure: void ratio of the finished aggregate, 43% or under. Shuangjin's testers measured it by liquid displacement: 42.8%.

The CNNC Tianwan plant was won in 2020, but the pandemic pushed the start to July. By the end of December the whole line had passed its trial run. Six months to strip the old line, survey, build the machines, install, tie in the civil works and bring the environmental systems up — and it came in on capacity, on product size and shape, and on emissions.

Equipment that clears nuclear inspection will not struggle on a quarry or a ready-mix plant.

Filmed and edited by the Shuangjin team at our own plants and project sites. Machines shown are standard production units.
