SK.Y Cone-Type Sand Making Machine

A single-cylinder cone configured for sand duty: where a VSI is overkill or power is scarce, the SK.Y.1200 turns ≤60 mm feed into saleable ≤5 mm sand at 40–60 t/h with 250 kW — and without the wear-part bill of impact crushing.

Not every manufactured-sand duty needs a VSI. Where the spec allows a cone-cut product — many concrete-sand and road-base markets do — a cone configured for fine crushing delivers the sand at a fraction of the wear cost, because it crushes by compression instead of throwing rock at steel at 70 m/s.

The SK.Y.1200 is that machine: our single-cylinder hydraulic platform in its sand-making configuration. Feed up to 60 mm, discharge set at 8–15 mm, and 40–60 t/h of sub-5 mm product with the balance as usable chips.

Where it fits: smaller sand plants, fine-crushing stages ahead of a washing circuit, and power-limited sites where every installed kilowatt has to earn its tonnage.

Design & working principle

  • Compression crushing, not impact — liner wear per tonne is dramatically lower than VSI on abrasive feed; the economics that matter on sand.
  • Single hydraulic cylinder — setting adjustment, overload protection and cavity clearing in one system, with fewer seals to fail in tropical service.
  • Full product control — the 8–15 mm discharge range sets the sand-to-chip split; tighten it for more sand, open it for more tonnage.
  • Same platform as the SK.Y crushers — one spare-parts inventory covers both duties for sites that run SK.Y cones in the main line.

One model, one duty. For higher sand tonnage, combine this machine in a parallel stage or step up to the SJ.L VSI — send the target tonnage and we will lay out both options with cost per tonne.

Configuration & options

Cavity & liners

Fine-chamber liner set for maximum sand fraction; medium chamber when the chip product also has to sell.

Wet-process interface

Discharge chute arranged for direct feed to a dewatering screen or washing circuit — see Sand Washing & Fines Recovery.

Drive & power

380/415 V 50 Hz standard; 60 Hz to order.

How to choose the right model

  1. Decide by spec and power, not habit: if your market accepts a cone-cut sand, this machine makes it at lower wear cost than a VSI; if the spec demands cubic particles and a tight fines curve, the SJ.L VSI is the correct tool.
  2. Size the feed stage to the 60 mm ceiling — a cone stage ahead of it must be set accordingly, which is a plant-design question we answer with the layout.

Common questions

Cone sand maker or VSI — which should I buy?

If your concrete spec accepts cone-cut sand: the cone, for the wear economics. If the spec demands cubical grain shape and controlled fines: the VSI, and no cone will fake it. Send the spec sheet and we will commit to one answer.
