One hydraulic cylinder does the work of a ring: setting adjustment, overload protection and cavity clearing from a single actuator. Fewer parts, simpler maintenance — the machine we specify when the site's maintenance team is small and the duty is heavy.
The SK.Y carries its crushing force on a single large hydraulic cylinder underneath the main shaft. That single actuator adjusts the discharge setting, releases on an uncrushable lump, and clears a stalled cavity — which is why the SK.Y has fewer hydraulic lines, fewer seals and fewer places to leak than a multi-cylinder machine.
For African and Southeast Asian plants where the crusher is fed by a small operating team and the nearest factory service visit is a flight away, that simplicity is not a compromise — it is correct engineering. The trade-off is that cavity flexibility is narrower than the SK.D, so the SK.Y suits coarse and medium secondary duty rather than precision tertiary sand work.
Typical duty: secondary cone behind a jaw on granite and basalt lines from 200 to 800 t/h, and coarse-stage tertiary work where the target product is 0–40 mm rather than 0–20 mm.

Model suffixes denote cavity type: .S medium, .Z intermediate, .C coarse. Capacities are open-circuit figures — closed-circuit duty runs lower.
Medium (.S), intermediate (.Z) and coarse (.C) cavities on the 1500 and 1800 platforms.
Control cabinet with hydraulic pressure and oil-temperature display; optional automatic setting regulation.
Air-cooled standard; water-cooled for sites above 40 °C ambient.
Motor and coupling sized to duty; soft-start available for diesel-genset sites.
Mn13Cr2 standard bowl and mantle liners; high-chrome options for abrasive basalt and river gravel.

We supply the machines, the drawings, the commissioning support and the parts. We do not operate your plant after handover.
Not in the duty it is designed for. It has a narrower range of cavity options and slightly less precise discharge control. On coarse secondary duty at high tonnage it is frequently the more productive and definitely the cheaper machine to own. Anyone telling you otherwise is usually selling what they have in stock.
The cylinder itself is a low-wear item. What needs watching is the hydraulic oil — we recommend a scheduled oil analysis, and on hot sites an annual seal inspection. Both are in the maintenance manual we hand over at commissioning.
It can produce a manufactured-sand feed, and the SK.Y.1200 is used as a cone sand maker with a specialised setup (see the manufactured-sand solution page). For a dedicated concrete-grade sand line we normally specify a VSI as the final stage, because gradation and particle shape are better controlled.
Material, feed size, target capacity and product sizes gets you a model recommendation and a price — not a catalogue.
